Stratford Police Announce New Acting Chief and Deputy Chief of Police

Stratford Police Inspector Gerry Foster will be taking the reins of the department as Acting Chief of Police effective November 11th.

He’ll be taking over as current Chief of Police Mike Bellai is headed to Saugeen Shores’ municipal police force.

Foster served as a member of the military police in the armed forces before joining the Stratford force as a constable in 1995.

He was a part of the Emergency Response Unit before accepting a promotion to Sergeant and working in operations.

Inspector Sam Theocharis will be promoted to Acting Deputy Chief.

Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson says both will hold the appointments until the end of August 2018, as the city is expected to finish its search for a permanent chief by then.
