Driver of Stolen Pick-up Clashes with Stratford Police

Stratford Police say no one was hurt after officers arrested a Huron County man in relation to a stolen pick-up.

Inspector Sam Theocharis says Stratford Police were alerted the stolen pick-up was making its way into town.

He says when officers tried to stop the driver on Front and Ontario streets, the man drove into a cruiser and tried to escape.

Officers managed to break the driver’s side window and get the man behind the wheel into custody.

Theocharis says the driver is facing a number of charges including possession of drugs, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation and weapons offences.
