UPDATED: Colleges Begin Announcing Semester Plans as Strike Continues

Ontario’s 24 colleges are beginning to roll out updated semester plans as the faculty strike is nearing the beginning of its fifth week.

The strike is expected to last at least one more week as staff are organizing for an online vote for the colleges’ recent offer.

Fanshawe college released a statement confirming the fall semester will be pushed back into January, with no classes or exams set to take place from December 23rd to January 2nd.

The semester will instead resume on January 3rd, with the winter semester’s start date will also be pushed back.

Conestoga has not yet delivered a statement on its proposed timeline, as it’s expected to be laid out once the strike has officially ended.

OPSEU is recommending faculty reject the recent offer, which could drag the strike on even longer.
