McWebb Talks University of Waterloo Plans to Bring in More Full-Time Students to Stratford Through 2018

Stratford’s City Council is hearing from the University of Waterloo and its plans for the future in the community.

Founding Director of the campus, Christie McWebb says year-over-year the campus has grown by 30 per cent with more and more full-time students preparing to live and study in Stratford.

She says by 2018 the campus will be adding second year students to its full-time population of around 600.

Graduates from the programs offered here have gone off to jobs with SurveyMonkey, Hyundai, the Royal Bank of Canada and Google.

McWebb says the campus’ attrition rate has also shown a drop from around 24 per cent to as-low-as 11 per cent thanks to changes in some of its programs.

The campus started in 2011 with 16 students.
