The Avon Maitland School Board says schools in the area are putting a face on the issue of bullying throughout this week.
It’s part of Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week as many are wearing pink in support of it.
Stratford Police Constable David Stewart says he’ll be making stops in elementary schools this week to talk about the effects of cyber-bullying.
He says it’s a unique challenge since social media is everywhere; it’s difficult for parents and teachers to monitor.
Bullying can have an impact on a child’s mental health, sometimes a lasting one.
The AMDSB says it’s important to have community partners like the Stratford Police and the OPP helping to raise awareness.
