Ontario`s Minister of Health and Long Term Care Eric Hoskins says he will not give approval to the transfer of 50 long-term care beds from Mitchell`s Hillside Manor to London.
Hoskins made the announcement today, stating Hillside will remain open and there are no current plans to move it to another community.
Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece has been vocal in Queen’s Park and helped to organize public meetings where hundreds of concerned residents took part in the discussion.
Hoskins`office says the decision is being denied due to the outpouring of public feedback regarding the move, which was first announced in April.
