Stratford Marijuana Producer Gets License Approval from Health Canada

Health Canada has given approval to a local marijuana production company for its federal license to produce cannabis for medical use.

GreenSeal Cannabis Company’s $5.5 million facility is located in Stratford’s Wright Business Park.

Health Canada says the company is expected to begin production sometime in early 2018.

Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson had previously stated marijuana legalization could reap positive economic benefits, referring to the more than 20 full and part-time jobs the facility is expected to create in the short term.

The facility will have to meet certain security and environmental standards set out by the province and Health Canada.
