Budget Talks Handle Capital, Operating Costs and Accessibility Concerns

Budget deliberations are continuing in Stratford with capital and operation costs on the table.

Last night the Finance and Labour Relations Committee saw two presentations from the local BIA on bringing more public washrooms to the downtown core and the Accessibility Advisory Committee on the universal design pathways at the Rotary Complex.

The draft capital budget includes infrastructure levy, development and community services.

The city’s operating budget includes transit, recreation, parking and crossing guard costs heading into 2018.

The committee approved a number of changes aimed at improving accessibility for transit and its public spaces such as parks.
