Pettapiece Weighs in on Auto Insurance Changes

The provincial government is set to introduce changes to the auto insurance industry in an effort to drive down rates and prevent fraud.

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece says Ontarians pay the most for auto insurance in Canada despite having some of the lowest levels of collisions and deaths.

Pettapiece says he hopes the government will work with the industry if they’re serious about the changes.

Ontario’s Finance Minister Charles Sousa says the province will create a Serious Fraud Office and introduce standard treatment plans for common injuries from collisions along with independent evaluators.
