Trout to be released in Avon watershed this week

Hundreds of Brook Trout will be released in the Avon watershed this week upstream of Stratford.

The fish will hit the water at 9:00 a.m. at the Thames River Anglers Hatchery and the Schmidt Family Farm at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority says restoration efforts in the watershed streams have improved their health significantly.

Those efforts include the planting of 10,000 native trees and shrubs.
