Perth-Wellington MP John Nater says he’s concerned about how much of the federal pot tax will be going to municipalities.
It comes after Ottawa announced it reached a deal with provinces yesterday.
Nater says part of the deal with sharing the taxes with provinces is that some will go to municipalities, but no exact amount has been laid out.
The federal government will give provinces a 75 per cent share of those revenues, but the amount headed to municipalities could vary from province to province.
Provincial health ministers and municipal leaders have gone to bat saying they will shoulder much of the costs associated with legalization.
