Revised Pot Legalization Timeline Puts Original Deadline in Question

Perth-Wellington MP John Nater says he feels the revised timeline for the legalization of marijuana in Canada is still an arbitrary one.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Tuesday  legalization will be passed in the summer of 2018, possibly scrapping the July 1st deadline.

Nater says any extra time will help healthcare organizations and police forces better prepare to deal with it.

He says the bill has taken eight months to get this far and is likely to take another eight months as it makes its way through the upper senate’s Red Chamber.
