UTRCA releases Brook Trout into Thames River

Hundreds of Brook Trout will be released into the Thames River today.

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority will release them this morning at two separate locations.

The agency says this is an important moment as the fish are being introduced to portions of the watershed that were once too degraded to sustain them.

Personnel with the conservation authority credit the 10,000 native trees and shrubs planted along the headwaters of the Avon River upstream of Stratford for the recovery.
