Season Passes and Camping Rates Will See Hike in New Year

Expect to see rates increase in 2018 for local conservation authorities as a minimum wage increase to $14 an hour.

Much of the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority’s workforce is made up of seasonal workers, such as students making minimum wage.

UTRCA sites have already raised some camping fees and day pass prices by $1.

Local conservation authorities say similar increases are in place or will be in place for season passes depending on the site.

The wage increase is set to jump on January 1st 2018 and again in January of next year to $15.

The UTRCA has changed its season passes from a dashboard sticker restricted to one vehicle to a transferable pass which can be attached to other vehicles or to a person.
