County Declares Part of Milverton Public Works Yard as Surplus

Perth County Council has declared a portion of land attached to the Milverton Public Works yard as surplus.

It’s part of a request from a local business, Masonal Stone, which is looking to expand its operations and storage.

The request is the second time the business has approached the county regarding the land, which council voted down in 2015 due to road access complications.

Director of county Public Works John McClelland says the next step will be to define any fees or extra costs in the process of selling or leasing the land before negotiations could begin.

He says the property owner in question will be expected to bear those costs.
