Council Meets Tonight to Make Decision on 48 Water Street

Stratford City Council is set to deliver its final decision on whether or to declare 48 Water Street as surplus.

The area contains the current Tom Patterson Theatre along with the Stratford Lawn Bowling Club and the Kiwanis Community Centre.

Council made the recommendation on January 17th as part of a special meeting called after the public had a chance to weigh in earlier that week.

With the property declared surplus the city is able to dispose of the land either by outright selling it or leasing it.

The land is set to be used as part of the redevelopment of the Tom Patterson Theatre by the Stratford Festival.

Council’s final decision will be delivered this evening at 6:30pm in City Hall.
