County Council Votes in Favour of Continuing Museum Support Agreement

Perth County Council has voted to extend its agreement with the Stratford Perth Museum indefinitely.

That financial agreement provides support to the museum, which has grown steadily in size, exhibits and attendance since the deal was struck seven years ago.

General Manager of the museum John Kastner says the agreement, which can’t exceed 70 per cent of the museum’s revenues has helped to make it far more sustainable.

Kaster also noted the percentage of the support it receives from the City of Stratford and the county has steadily dropped due to the museum’s growth over the years.

The logistics of deal will still need to hashed out, with a termination provision which the county’s CAO and solicitor must agree to.
