Suspect Turns Himself in Following Serious Collision on Erie Street Friday

The suspect wanted in relation to a serious crash on Erie Street in Stratford on Friday has turned himself in.

Acting Deputy Chief of Police Sam Theocharis says one person was hurt in the collision in which a car pulling onto Erie Street from Monteith forced a SUV off the road where it struck a hydro pole.

Theocharis is thanking the public for spreading the word over the weekend.

The suspect turned himself in yesterday, now word on yet on if the man will face charges.

 

 

Stratford Police are looking for a silver or light grey Buick or Ford Crown Victoria following a collision on Friday.

Acting Deputy Chief of Police Sam Theocharis says the silver sedan pulled out onto Erie Street from Monteith, forcing a SUV off the road where it struck a hydro pole.

The driver of the SUV was hurt, but not seriously.

Police say the suspect vehicle’s driver is described as an older man, possibly in his seventies.

Witnesses say the partial license plate read AXZ, with the vehicle last seen heading east bound on Gore Street around 8:45 on Friday morning.
