UTRCA Stream Gauge in St. Marys Sees Highest Flows Ever

The Upper Thames Conservation Authority has updated its flood warning status.

UTRCA reservoirs in London, St. Marys and Woodstock have had their flows adjusted to reduce flooding downstream of the watershed.

In St. Marys, that stream gauge recorded its highest flows in history, with multiple closures along the town’s waterfront yesterday and this morning.

With temperatures on their way below freezing, some runoff is expected to be slowed and peak levels have likely been reached in many areas already.

St. Marys Fire Chief and Director of Emergency Services Richard Anderson says sand and sandbags are still available at the town’s Municipal Operation Centre located at 408 James Street South.
