CRA Offering New Programs and Resources this Tax Season

Tax season is nearly upon us and the Canada Revenue Agency is offering some news ways to file and some new programs.

From the CRA, Paul Murphy says the agency is rolling out new resources for those on low or fixed incomes here in Stratford and Perth County.

He says filing online through the agency’s tax tools can be a lot easier, given the site will make many of the calculations for you.

The CRA is also hoping to raise awareness about the working income tax benefit, a refundable credit available to any low-income families or individuals.

In 2017 only about 85 per cent of those eligible for the benefit cashed in on it, due to not knowing the program even existed.
