Counterfeit bills have made their way into Perth County.
That’s according to the OPP which is trying to raise awareness and inform the public on how to identify the fake money in circulation.
Constable Laura Brown says with tourism being big in the area, both American and Canadian counterfeit bills have been found.
Brown says paper consistency, wording, the size of the bills and their texture can all be clear indicators you’re dealing with fake bills.
She says Canadian bills in particular have more security features than American, making them easier to identify.
