Police issue 17 tickets for stop sign violations in two days

The police are reminding drivers that coming to a complete stop at a stop sign is vital to everyone’s safety.

A Perth County OPP officer set up a watch in St. Marys at the intersection of Maxwell and Huron Streets on two different days this week.

Complaints from residents about drivers ignoring the stop signs prompted the watch.

Seven drivers were ticketed on Tuesday in a two hour span for stop sign violations, with another 10 ticketed for the same thing this morning.

All 17 drivers got a $110 fine and three demerit points.
