There have been no new cases of the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus in Ontario since April 30th but another case popped up in Manitoba last week.
The province’s Chief Veterinary Office uncovered the latest case on a hog production site.
It’s Manitoba’s second confirmed case of PED.
Nearly 30 pig farms in our area have been affected by the nasty illness.
PED is not contagious to humans and does not impact meat quality.
