Perth-Wellington NDP opens campaign office

The provincial election cranked into high gear locally over the weekend.

All three of the major political parties held big events in Stratford.

The Perth-Wellington NDP opened their campaign office Saturday on Downie Street across from the Avon Theatre.

Candidate Romayne Smith-Fullerton says having the office open makes a huge difference.

She touched on many issues while addressing the crowd but singled out PC Party leader Tim Hudak’s pledge to cut the civil service by 100,000.

Smith-Fullerton says that’s the absolute wrong way to grow the economy or reduce the deficit.

Smith-Fullerton says the New Democrats defeated the government because they failed to keep the promises they had made in the previous budget.
