Woodstock Police have received calls from people reporting that they are receiving CRA telephone calls. The caller identifies themselves as working for the Canada Revenue Agency. The caller will threaten that they are sending Police if payment is not received. While callers are on the phone a second call will come in and the number that will appear on the call display is the Woodstock Police non-emergency number 1-519-537-2323. Be aware that the CRA scammers are manipulating telephone numbers to make it appear as though the police are calling. When Police call from the station it will appear as “private number” or “no caller id”. Visit the CRA website for safety tips and on how to report this type of crime.
