The Stratford Fire department has a brand new vehicle in their fleet. The New truck will be replacing the existing pumper truck that is currently away for repairs. It’s an older 1993 Volvo Pumper Truck that they got at a discounted rate of 10 thousand dollars. The estimated time for work on the existing vehicle will be about 6 months, and in total will cost close to 68 thousand dollars to finish and get back on the road. The replacement vehicle was a cheaper option than renting and according to Chief Paradis, is a sound business decision and investment.
