Suspicious package found in Stratford not explosive

A suspicious package in Stratford turned out to be just a plastic bottle.

Stratford Police say they were called out to the Queen Street and Lakeside Drive are around 8 o’clock Thursday night after a someone walking in the area found a plastic bottle that looked suspicious at the base of a tree, the person said they picked up the bottle and shook it out of curiosity.

Police came to the scene and say they noticed the bottle was wrapped in white tape with what appeared to be a wick attacked to the plastic cap.

London Police’s bomb disposal unit was called in as a precaution and they shot the bottle with a high pressure water cannon and then examined it and determined it wasn’t dangerous and didn’t contain any explosive materials.

Police say the public was never in any danger during the incident.
