A barn fire in West Perth over the weekend has left around $500,000.00 worth of damage in its aftermath.

West Perth Fire Chief Bill Hunter tells the www.MyStratfordNow.com Newsroom that firefighters were called to the blaze on Line 19 Friday night.

He says no livestock were killed in the blaze but there was so much damage caused because of the large amount of equipment stored in the barn.

Hunter adds that at one point an excavator was used to help fight the hot spots.

An investigation into just what caused the fire continues.
