Stratford swans doing fine after blast of winter in april

If you’re worried about just how Stratford’s famous swans are making out after the blast of winter we received over the past few days worry no more.

The Parks, Forestry and Cemetery Manager for the City of Stratford says the swans are a tough and resilient bird and the weather doesn’t impact them the way it does other species of birds like robins and small song birds.

Quinn Malott says it might be hard to spot the swans but they are out there.

“Sometimes you can’t see them with the snow because they’re white, they’re up on land so they’re tough to spot but they’re all around and they’re healthy, as long as there’s open water on the river they’re fine.”

Malott adds that he took a count of the swans earlier this week and they are all accounted for.
