Pest problems for farmers

Black cutworms, slugs, wireworms, grubs and millipedes could soon be coming to farm near you.

The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture warns that the cool wet spring has left farmers vulnerable to a higher risk of early pest problems.

Those conditions mean farmers have problems getting good weed control in before planting.

That means the seeds could end up sitting for a while leaving them vulnerable to a number of insects.
