Hazardous waste drop off this week in Stratford

Here’s your opportunity to get rid of any of the household hazardous waste you might have sitting around.

Until Saturday, you can drop of any of the waste defined as corrosive, explosive, poisonous or flammable at the City of Stratford’s Landfill Site on Romeo Street South during hours of operation, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Those who live in Perth East and Perth South can also take advantage of the program.

Waste Reduction Coordinator with the City of Stratford Kate Simpson says there’s an easy way to tell if it’s hazardous waste.

“Look for the hazard symbols on those containers so the explosion sign, the skull and cross bones, those are all things that we need to deal with properly with the hazardous waste drop off.”

You can also leave any leaf and yard waste you might have out for pick up during your regular pick up day this week.
