One man dead after two vehicle collision near Exeter over the weekend

An 86-year-old Exter man is dead after a two vehicle crash over the weekend.

Police say they were called to the scene at the intersection of Thames Road East and Morrison Line just east of Exeter around 8 o’clock Saturday night and police say when they arrived they found two vehicles and three people involved.

OPP Constable Jamie Stanley says they believe the driver of a Kia Rondo stopped at the stop sign at the intersection before the collision happened.

“Investigators believe he did come to a stop at that intersection however he entered out into the intersection into the path of the westbound minivan so we believe at this time that the driver failed to yield to the driver of the westbound motor vehicle.”

Stanley adds the driver, Liam Branderhorst from Exeter, was brought to hospital where he later died with the two people in the other vehicle involved suffering non-life threatening injuries.
