PED spread slowing down

The spread of porcine epidemic diarrhea appears to have stopped.

The last case of PED in Ontario was confirmed on April 24th in Middlesex County.

Experts believed the warmer weather would slowdown the highly contagious disease and they appear to be right.

In Ontario, 58 pig farms have been infected by the nasty disease including six in Perth, 10 in Oxford and 11 in Huron.

PED is not contagious to humans and does not impact meat quality.
