National Nursing Week shining spotlight on profession

Ensuring politicians running for office know how important health care is to people in our province.

That’s prompted the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario to invite candidates to visit health-care organizations and learn more about the health system and the work nurses do with many of the visits taking place this week, National Nursing Week.

Perth District Health Unit Nurse Krysta Tomasevic says nurses play a vital role in the health care system.

“Nurses are the backbone of our health care so this is a time to say thank you to them and to the colleagues we work with.”

The Association says it’s important that the candidates understand the contribution nurses and nursing students make in the health system.
