More farm equipment sharing the roads and highways around Stratford

Don’t be surprised if you see more farm machinery sharing the road.

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture says the spring and fall are the busiest times of the year for machinery going from farm to farm and they are reminding you to watch their signals closely to avoid any possible collisions.

They are also asking you to give them the room they need to get to where they need to go.

Huron County Federation of Agriculture member Margaret Vincent says farm equipment operators keep safety front of mind.

“We’re legally entitled to the travel portion of the road as long as we keep our equipment to our side of the road.”

Vincent adds it’s important that drivers keep a close eye out for turn signals activated on farm machinery.
