Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath stops by Stratford

Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath appears to have a lot of support in our city.

A large crowd gathered at Perth-Wellington NDP candidate Michael O’Brien’s campaign office in Stratford Tuesday afternoon to greet Horwath as she made a stop on the campaign trail.

Many held signs with either Horwath’s or O’Briens names on them and cheered loudly as her campaign bus pulled in.

Horwath took a few moments to speak to the media gathered and she says it’s clear people in Ontario want new leadership.

“We’re saying to folks we can fix what’s wrong and do what’s right so that life can get better for Ontarians, so we can have families feeling like they can get ahead again, so that we can have seniors that live with dignity and we can have children that have a great future ahead of them in our province.”

Horwath touched on topics including health care and the cost of post secondary education in comments she made to the crowd, the Ontario election is June 7th.
