A 25-year-old St.Mary’s man faces charges including aggravated assault.
Police say they were called about a report of a disturbance at a home in the town around 12:30 Sunday afternoon.
They say their early investigation has revealed that two men were involved in a fight inside a home.
Police say that when they were investigating at the home they learned the 60-year-old victim had gone to the hospital on his own where he was treated for serious, non-life-threatening, injuries.
The 25-year-old was also charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats and he was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Police say the two men know each other and there is no concern for the public’s safety.
Their investigation continues.
