Randy Pettapiece re-elected in Perth-Wellington riding

We will see a familiar face representing our riding at Queens Park.

PC incumbent Randy Pettapiece was re-elected in Thursday’s Ontario election in the Perth-Wellington riding finishing with 50.67 per cent of the popular vote.

Coming in second was the NDP’s Michael O’Brien with 30.71 per cent and third was the Liberal’s Brendan Knight with 10.81 per cent.

Pettapiece has represented the riding in the Ontario Legislature since 2011 and he is among the PC members who will now make up a majority government in the province.

He says the party needs to keep the people who live in the province front of mind now that they have a majority.

“We will be making the decisions now as to the direction that we want to go and we better make sure that the decisions we make are what the people of Ontario want and that they are good for the province.”

The Green Party’s Lisa Olsen came in fourth in the Perth-Wellington riding with 5.86 per cent of the vote.
