Over 100 charges laid by police during two day traffic operation in Woodstock area

Over 100 charges were laid during a two day traffic blitz in the Woodstock area.

The blitz was held by Oxford County OPP and Woodstock Police around the area last Thursday and Friday.

They say they laid a total of 125 charges, including 80 for speeding, eight for distracted driving and another eight for seat belt infractions.

Six of the eight distracted driving charges came against drivers who were using cell phones in front of the Woodstock Police Station, according to police.

They say another operation is scheduled to take place in the fall.
