Busy long weekend ahead on the roads and highways

With the Canada Day long weekend almost here, lots of us are planning to hit the roads and get away.

The roads and highways are expected to be pretty full over the next few days meaning there will be hold ups and it might take you a little longer to get where you’re going than was planned.

That can also lead to drivers losing their patience and potentially putting themselves or others at risk.

Stratford Police Constable Dave Stewart says you should use your patience when you’re getting to where you’re going.

“If you’re getting frustrated and the kids are acting up in the back seat and there’s a bit of traffic just take your time, check the traffic reports before you go so you know where the back logs are going to be.”

Police are expected to be out in full force over the long weekend making sure you’re following the rules of the road.
