Three Woodstock teens charged after altercation with police

Three Woodstock teens face charges after police say they resisted arrest.

It happened Thursday night just before 11 o’clock as a they say a police officer was conducting a Highway Traffic Act investigation in the Cedar Street and Dufferin Street area.

They say while an officer was attempting to arrest a 17-year-old male, the officer was assaulted by a 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old female.

Additional officers were called to the area, according to police, to arrest the two girls when the 17-year-old tried to remove one of the officer’s guns from its holster.

During the time they were in custody at Police Headquarters a release says they caused damage to the cell area and monitoring equipment.

The male faces mischief and resisting peace officer charges while the two females face charges including assaulting a police officer.
