Premier Doug Ford has unveiled his new 21-member cabinet and it includes a local long time MPP.
Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman has been chosen as Ontario’s new Minister of Agriculture.
Another local connection is Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson who was selected as the Minister of Education.
Christine Elliott has been named deputy premier and is also the province’s new health minister following her return to politics this winter after years as the province’s health ombudsman.
The party’s former interim leader and finance critic, Vic Fedeli, will serve as finance minister, while Ford has also taken on the portfolio of intergovernmental affairs after leading the PC’s to a massive majority in the provincial election three weeks ago.
