With the kids out of school, over the next few weeks for “Can You Hack It” we’re going to test out “activities for the kids” to determine whether they are worth trying out orrr whether you should skip them!
Today we tried out 5 Minute Ice Cream!
Can you hack it? Let’s find out…
Here’s the recipe:
1 gallon ziploc bag
1 quart ziploc bag
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla (We suggest adding more based on OUR test)
1⁄3 cup salt
ice
DIRECTIONS
Pour the milk, sugar and vanilla into the smaller, quart sized bag.
Fill the larger, gallon sized bag 3/4 full of ice, then add the salt to the ice.
Place the smaller bag inside the larger bag and close the seal. make sure you close them both tightly!
Now shake the bag good and hard for 5 minutes.
Rinse the small bag off with cold water before opening to keep the salt water from getting into your ice cream.
*Note: Wear some gloves when shaking the bag as it gets very cold on the hands VERY fast AND have a bucket nearby or try this outside as the bag also gets very WET*
