West Nile virus found in Woodstock

A mosquito trap in Woodstock has tested positive for West Nile virus.

Southwestern Public Health says the virus was found during routine surveillance activities and it’s the first positive mosquito pool of the season in Oxford County.

Throughout the summer months, Public Health traps and tests pools across the county on a weekly basis.

With a positive pool identified, they are reminding you to cover up and clean up to avoid the virus.

You can visit www.swpublichealth.ca for tips on how to do that.
