Museum of the Moon to take over Stratford

The moon will be a sight to behold in Stratford.

Stratford Summer Music is bringing the Museum of the Moon to Tom Patterson Island on Saturday and it will remain in place until August 25th.

The moon is a 23′ reproduction of the exact surface of the moon, based on pictures taken by NASA cameras from lunar space crafts, then assembled by British futurist and inventor Luke Jerram.

Stratford Summer Music General Manager Judy Matheson says there is lots of excitement swirling around the event.

“I know come Saturday that when we raise the moon again at 8 o’clock in the morning people will be overwhelmed I think, it’s inflatable and it’s huge.”

The moon was to go into place Thursday but the forecast ended up to leading it being delayed by a few days.
