Progress continues to be made on Stratford’s new transit terminal.
The eight-bay terminal, located off Downie Street, is currently under construction with an official opening for it slated to take place in October.
However, Stratford Chief Administrative Officer Rob Horne says they hope to have the buses operating out of it earlier than that if everything goes well.
He says they would like to have it in use as soon as possible to accommodate the many people who use public transit in the city.
“We’re trying to accelerate that schedule, if we can see October come it would be great but we’d like to have the buses running a little bit sooner, there are a few other phases of that that will go into next year.”
Horne adds that they are also hoping to attract new transit users as they have just out a new route realignment in place.
