Optimism Place holding first ever food drive in Stratford

Optimism Place in Stratford is counting on those who live in the city showing their generosity.

They are holding their first ever food drive beginning Thursday and running until Saturday so that they can replenish their shelves which are currently bare.

Optimism Place is a home for abused women and their children in the Stratford area.

Fern Sharp, Optimism Place Fundraising and Awareness Coordinator, says they are looking for a variety of different donations.

“Non-perishable foods, canned foods, pasta, pasta sauces, pretty well anything you can think of, soups, we have children and we go through a lot of canned soup, and we also need toiletries, we need shampoo, we need conditioner.”

You can drop donations off at the Festival Marketplace Shopping Centre and at all Tim Horton’s locations in Stratford.
