UPDATE: 2:43 P.M.

A two-year-old boy and a ten-year-old boy have been identified as the victims in a fatal two-vehicle collision outside Stratford.

First responders were called out around 6 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Perth Line 26 and Perth Road 122 and once on scene, they discovered that an SUV and a minivan had collided.

Police say the two boys, Heeyul Son from Cambridge and Daniel Nadon from Kitchener, were pronounced dead at the scene while three other people were taken to hospital in critical condition and then airlifted to another hospital outside the county, a fifth person was found in stable condition while another was found with minor injuries and both were treated at the Stratford General Hospital.

Perth County OPP Constable Laura Brown says investigators are now trying to piece together what happened to try and come up with a cause.

“The expertise of our technical collision investigators is a tremendous asset in tragedies like this, what they are able to do is take not only the physical but any electronic evidence that would be available from those motor vehicles and essentially try and recreate what occurred.”

Post-mortem examinations for the two boys killed in the collision are scheduled for Thursday.
