School Buses hit the Roads

We can expect to see a lot more school buses on the roads.
Today is the first day of school for most students in the area and that means keeping safety in mind while driving.
Police are reminding you that drivers, when meeting a stopped school bus with its overhead red signal-lights flashing, must stop before reaching the bus.
They say drivers must stop at least 20 metres before reaching the bus and can’t continue on until the bus moves or the overhead red signal-lights lights are turned off.
Fines for not following the rules around school buses can range from $400 to $2000 for a first time offence.
