Patrick Cook Memorial Cross-Country Invitational set for Tuesday in Stratford

Another fall tradition is set to take place in Stratford.

The Patrick Cook Memorial Cross-Country Invitational is happening Tuesday at the SERC site in Stratford and will feature over 11 hundred students from Perth and Huron schools taking part in various different races.

This is the 28th year for the event and the money raised from it goes toward graduation scholarships, athletic program fees, and track and field equipment.

Organizer Liz Yundt says participants taking part are all ages.

“Aged 6 to 13 and I believe our largest race, we have 14 races, our largest race is boys eight and there are 123 participants.”

The races take place from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Matilda Street will be closed from the tennis court parking lot towards the SERC site during the event.
